So honoured to have been acknowledged by the Jingfang Institute through the Nanjing TCM University for my contribution to classical medicine (Jingfang) practice and education alongside many of my Jingfang colleagues and close friends. New translation on the blog! After finishing our Chaihu class last week, I shared a case on our forum for the students, but figured I'd share it here as well, as the results were so astounding. Just processing some Jingjie 荆芥 (Shizonepeta herba) today. Good quality should be vibrant and very fragrant, and it’s smell is in fact one of my favourites. I commonly add this herb, usually alongside Fangfeng (防风) when treating various allergic type disorders. While not a typical ‘classical’ herb, it’s still an important one in our herbal arsenal. Let’s see what the trusty ‘ol Ben Cao (神农本草经) tells us. Registration for my next Formula Family class is up! This time around, we'll be delving deep into all things Ban Xia, from it's historical usage, body type/constitution, presentation, representative formulas, and so much more! Just finished the 3rd class of my Formula Family series with Chaihu. It was a big one with a ton of material and I only went an hour over time 😆 Chái Hú class this coming Saturday! It’s a good day to be a Chinese medicine nerd. Packages from the Middle Kingdom bring me such joy! Happy Chanukah to all my He-bros and Sis’s. May our Menorah lights shine bright amidst these darker days. ❤️ 🕎 🔥
